Dr. Myrick has won the 2022 John McCain Dissertation Award

This is awarded annually by the Munich Security Conference for exceptional academic contributions in the field of political science, history, or policy analysis with an emphasis on transatlantic relations — including its security, technological, political, trade and financial, social and cultural dimensions.

Dr. Myrick has been appointed the Douglas and Ellen Lowey Assistant Professor of Political Science

This Professorship supports groundbreaking research in the field of information and society. It is also partially supported by The Duke Endowment in recognition of the chair-holder’s significant contributions to undergraduate teaching.

Dr. Rachel Myrick is the Douglas and Ellen Lowey Assistant Professor of Political Science at Duke University. Her research explores how partisan polarization affects foreign policymaking in democratic states, with an emphasis on U.S. national security policy. More broadly, she is interested in the interplay between domestic and international politics in matters of security and conflict.
