James Bohland

Ph.D. Candidate, Ohio University

James Bohland is currently a Ph.D. student in history at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He holds an M.A. in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky and a B.A. in history from Ohio University. His dissertation, entitled “Joint Intelligence Committee ‘B’: British Economic Intelligence and the Cold War, 1968-1984” examines how economic intelligence assessments produced by Britain’s Joint Intelligence Committee ‘B’ influenced Britain’s external economic policies during the Cold War. 

His research interests, apart from the history of intelligence, include contemporary great power competition, geopolitics, and international political economy.
