Barnaby Crowcroft

Barnaby Crowcroft is an America in the World Consortium Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his Ph.D. in history at Harvard University, and previous degrees at Yale University and the London School of Economics. His research explores new perspectives on the rise and fall of the British empire, mostly in the Middle East and West Africa, as well as the history of alliances and international human rights regimes.

He has held fellowships at the universities of Berlin and Vienna, as well as Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He reviews books for The Literary Review, The Times Literary Supplement, Claremont Review of Books, National Review and The New Criterion.
